Over three years of professional experience as a spoken word and performing artist including: act development- editing, writing, rehearsing; creating and distributing promotional materials; cultivating and growing a social media presence; working collaboratively on artistic projects; performing in a wide variety of venues for diverse audience members.

Highlights: artistic curator, emcee and performer for We Gon Be Alright- a Black History Month Resistance Cabaret, member of Calgary’s 2017 slam team who were semi-finalists at the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word, Canada’s national annual spoken word festival, featured artist at various events and showcases across Calgary and Canada.

Responsible for event planning, promotion and hosting; main point of contact for artists and art organizations; volunteer coordination; basic AV equipment set-up; routine administrative support- filing, processing documents, scheduling appointments, invoice preparation; drafting and editing written materials for grant proposals and promotional campaigns; digital content creation and brand management across platforms; creating engaging and meaningful content.

Co-Founder, The Unlearning Channel— Calgary AB  
JUNE 2017- PRESENT

Co-host of The Unlearning Channel, an educational resource created to facilitate corporate and non-profit training around anti-racist education, cultural competency and intercultural relations. Primary responsibilities: content creation for social media across platforms, coordinating and interviewing guests, research, preparing invoices, script and proposal writing, management of a budget, community engagement and assessing audience needs.

Director, ‘Who Will Hear My Sigh?’—Calgary AB
NOVEMBER 2015- MARCH 2016

Created, wrote, produced, and edited the short film, ‘Who Will Hear my Sigh?,’ as part of the Herland Film Production Workshop, for a professional screening and showcase on Telus TV. Primary responsibilities: managed a film crew of 12 people while adhering to a strict production deadline and remaining consistently within a budget.
